Overview
The Purdue Week of SEISMIC took place from Monday, April 4th to Friday, April 8th 2022. There were multiple presentations, plenty of meals, and fruitful conversations. There were multiple goals set for the attendees of the Purdue Week of SEISMIC:
ALL
- Raise awareness among potential PWL instructional researchers of current and potential SEISMIC projects
Expand the SEISMIC community at Purdue
ADMINISTRATORS/INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH
- Identify ways to support and foster classroom innovations in PWL STEM courses
Foster institutional change at PWL by examining and discussing equity data and policies.
INSTRUCTORS AND VP TEACHING AND LEARNING STAFF/IL
- Explore possible projects for the implementation of classroom innovation in PWL STEM courses
Brainstorm possible DEI applications in learning environments using equity research

Opportunities to Engage with the SEISMIC Collaboration

The Sloan Equity and Inclusion in STEM Introductory Courses (SEISMIC) collaboration brings together 10 public R1 institutions, including Purdue University, to make introductory STEM courses more equitable and inclusive. All individuals on our SEISMIC member campuses are welcome and encouraged to participate in this collaboration to the extent it is useful to them. This presentation details the various ways individuals can engage with the collaboration, including pathways for STEM instructors, discipline-based education researchers, students, staff members, and more.
