Spring 2024 Project Retreat
Overview
During the week of March 11th, SEISMIC will be hosting a space for project teams to work at the University of California Irvine. We hope teams can find this in-person meeting time useful to push forward SEISMIC-related work.
Project Information
We have three different project teams attending the UC Irvine Project Retreat. Information on each team and project can be found below:
UC Irvine SELC Team
Overview: “Not only will this allow us a set time and space for us to dive deeper into the equity reports and dissemination plan, but we will be able to interface with other SELCs attending the meeting to further build community and share ideas.”
Working Days: March 11-15
Contact: Matthew Mahavongtrakul (mmahavon@uci.edu)
SELC Writing Project
Overview: “We will use this in-person time to work collaboratively on several products about the SELC project. We’ll use a mix of team discussion and individual or small-group writing time. We’ll leave this retreat with a clear plan for how to complete our five writing projects.”
Working Days: March 11-13
Contact: Nita Tarchinski (nitaked@umich.edu)
Office Hours Project: Next Steps
Overview: “Our team will be mainly focusing on two main activities: We are currently working on finishing up a manuscript for a qualitative paper and we will be planning the next steps necessary to advance a proposal that we submitted to the NSF IUSE program. The results of the call for the proposal have not been disclosed yet, but if we are awarded the grant we must prepare for the next stages of the planning process. If the award is not granted, we will come together to readjust our proposal to resubmit in the next application round. All these activities are far more productive in an in-person format than in an online environment.”
Working Days: March 15-17
